Pet Eng 4821: Environmental Petroleum Applications
This course is a study of environmental protection and regulatory compliance in the oil and gas industry. The impact of various environmental laws on drilling and production operations will be covered. Oilfield and related wastes and their handling are described. Federal, state and local regulatory agencies are introduced, and their role in permitting and compliance monitoring is presented. Legal and ethical responsibilities are discussed.
Prerequisites: Chem 1310.
