This course offers an investigation of how information systems support the competitive strategy of an organization and the roles of information systems in transforming organizations and industries. Topics covered include: The firm in its environment; software and hardware components of functional information systems; network and database technology; the systems approach; strategic planning and issues; information resource management; and their impacts on performance and productivity in an organization.
